A Word from Rabbi Moshe Cohen:
PESACH
The Maharal explains in his Hagadah shel Pesach, that the word "Pesach" can really be read as two words: "pay - sach" which means "the mouth speaks."
He further elaborates how important it is to exercise great care in our use of speech on Pesach.
Rav Yitzchok Hutner was the Rosh HaYeshiva of Yeshivas Chaim
Every year at the Rosh HaYeshiva's seder, a talmid was selected to fill the cups of wine. One year the Talmid who was chosen was so nervous as he poured the cup for the Rosh HaYeshiva, that it spilled down the front of the Rosh HaYeshiva's Kittel ( the white gown worn on Leil Seder.)
A hush fell over the room. Rav Hutner looked down at his wine spattered kittel and remarked:
"A kittel without wine is like a Machzor without tears"
The tension broke. The dignity of the Talmid was restored. The Seder proceeded. Rav Hutner had demonstrated a great lesson to his students.

Jewish Law Tip
Every adult is obligated to drink four cups of wine on each of the Seder nights. The cup must hold a Revi'is. Estimates range from 3 fl oz. to 5.3 fl oz. L'chatchila the entire cup no matter how large should be drunk. At least most of the cup must be drunk. If this cannot be done L'chatchila an entire Revi'is must be drunk. B'dieved one fulfills the Mitzvah by drinking most of a Revi'is.
The Poskim agree that anyone who can, should use only wine.
R Moshe Feinstein / R Elyashuv only allow wine, even if he dislikes wine, or if the wine will give him a temporary headache. Brisker Rav / Tchebiner Rav / Chazon Ish used grape juice for the four cups. The preferred manner is to drink a Revi'is in one swallow. L'chatchila, one should drink most of the Revi'is in one swallow. If this is not possible, he should drink it in two swallows with a minimal pause between them. If it takes longer than two swallows to drink most of a Rrevi'is, one fulfills the Mitzvah only b’Bdieved. If it takes longer than 3-4 minutes, one does not fulfill the Mitzvah even B'dieved!
Have a great Shabbos and a wonderful Pesach!

A Word from Rabbi
Vayikra – Maos Chitim
One year several community leaders of Radin approached the Chofetz Chaim with a painful problem. They had been unable to gather sufficient Maos Chittim to provide for Radin’s poor during the holiday. The Chofetz Chaim told them to gather everyone in the town square the next day.
"My friends, as you know I have lived a long and full life. I will not be with you much longer. I am sure that I will be asked about the citizens of Radin and I do not know what to say. If I say the citizens of Radin are generous, I might be guilty of not telling the truth. If I say that when it came time for them to give Maos Chittim for Pesach, they did not give sufficiently, I might be speaking Lashon Hara Therefore I am turning to you for help. What am I to do?"
As soon as townspeople heard the words of the great rabbi they felt embarrassed. They immediately took up a collection for Maos Chittim.

Jewish Law Tip
Orach Chaim 475:1 rules that the Charoses should be removed from the Maror before consuming the Maror.
Mishna Berura 475:17 rules that one should remove the Charoses from the Maror we use for Korech. Since the Charoses can neutralize the bitter taste of the Maror and there is no Mitzva to eat Charoses, tha Halacha always requires that we remove the Charoses from the Maror.
It is permissible to eat Charoses separately or during the meal.
Have a great Shabbos!
