JWI Needs YOU!

Our Jewish Mothers Recipes

The best ingredients include you.

 

Please join us with your generation to generation, best-ever recipes for our

first JWI cookbook fundraiser.

 

Releasing Mother’s Day 2013, Our Jewish Mothers Recipes is scheduled to honor mothers everywhere who make a difference in their communities and families lives.  We can’t fill the pages without you, so here’s how you can participate:

 

1)    Log on to http://www.typensave.com/app#and enter

username:  JWI Cookbook1646  password:  jwimom (case sensitive)

 

2)    Click on Submit

 

3)    Select Add Recipes

 

4)    Choose the category you wish to enter your recipe under, i.e., Meals in Minutes, Main Entrée, Soups/Salads, Desserts, Breads and Rolls, Dips and Sauces, etc.

 

5)    Follow the instructions to type in your recipe. 

 

   Please email cookbookhelp@gmail.com with any questions.

Note: The system is unable to allow you to work on the same recipe once you exit, so please don’t logout until the recipe is fully entered. You can come back frequently to enter new recipes.  Unless you leave the name fields blank, all recipes will be identified with your name next to the recipe and within the Index.  Editors will Kosher recipes and/or correct any errors, as needed.

"JWI (Jewish Women's Initiative) is a project of AISH Los Angeles. Proceeds from this fundraiser will provide scholarships for the Moms Trip to Israel, and provide women with continuing Jewish education through classes and seminars."

  • notice the capital letters and the space between the words “JWI” and “Cookbook.”. No space after the word “Cookbook” and the number (1646).


3) Password: jwimom

  • no capitals, no spaces

 

4) When you have successfully logged in you will see a “Welcome to the Jewish Mother’s Cookbook...” message and you will have a choice to increase the font size or keep the font the same. When you are ready to enter your recipes choose “submit” located at the bottom of the window and this will take you to “Add Recipes”

 

5) Choose Add Recipes and follow the fields of information That’s it! Thank you!!!



Consider printing these pages to have handy should questions arise while entering your name and recipe.

Contributors: enter your first name and then last name.

    • How you enter your name is how your name will appear on the Index Page as well as on the recipe page. If you would like to leave your name off, please enter “anonymous” in the first field or leave the fields blank all together.
  • skip any spaces that read “leave blank” next to them-- we’ve decided not add the locations of our contributors.

  • category: select the category your recipe should appear within i.e., Soup/Salad, Appetizer/Beverage

 

Ingredients: Hit the “enter” key to give yourself another field to add additional ingredients.

Click on Tips to find easy abbreviations to use when entering your recipe measurements.

Recipe Parts “Add a Part” This is needed ONLY for recipes that have an additional part i.e., dressing, icing or sauce. If your recipe stands alone, please leave the second part title blank.

Notes: (Optional) If you would like to share with us a family story or something special about how the recipe originated or has grown over the years, please share in the notes section. You can also let us know how many the recipe serves, if it freezes well or can be doubled.

Preview Recipe: When you’re done entering your recipe please click on “Preview Recipe” in the middle of the right-side pane and a draft of your recipe will appear. You can spell check or hit Save. After saving your recipe, you can add another recipe entry, if desired.

Shiva Information

Dear Community,

 

Leah Hill is sitting shiva for her father, George Tabacznik, Tzvi Herschel ben Shmuel, at 1457 Durango Avenue, LA CA 90035. 

 

There will be no minyanim.  Shivah began right after Simchat Torah and will end on Monday morning, October 15th

 

Visiting hours on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10.30am-12.30pm, 2.30pm-5.30pm, and 7pm-8.30pm.  On Friday, 10.30am-2.30pm.
