Maos Chitim
One year before Pesach, Nathan Strauss, the well-known philanthropist visited Eretz Yisroel. He went to see Rav Kook. He took out his check book, wrote a generous donation for maos chitim, and placed it in front of Rav Kook.
“Is this enough?” he inquired. Rav Kook responded to the question by saying: “I will tell you a story. A wealthy landowner once got lost in his vast estate. Towards evening he reached his neighbor’s estate and encountered the neighbor’s Jew who managed his estate.
“Do you have something for me to eat?” he asked
“Of course” replied the Jew “but I did not prepare anything special for such an honored guest.” answered the Jew.
The Jew brought the wealthy landowner to his humble abode and gave him some food and drink. After he had finished the wealthy landowner asked:
“So how much exactly do I owe you?”
“Nothing” was the reply for the Jew. “It was my honor.”
However the landowner persisted that he wished to pay
“In that case you owe me a thousand rubles!”
“What?” exclaimed the nobleman. “How can your food be that expensive?”
“It is not!” replied the Jew. “It is the guest that is expensive!”
Nathan Strauss understood immediately. He took back the check and ripped it up and wrote a much large one!
Good Shabbos,

Advanced halachic bulletin
Rav Moshe Feinstein: Aluminum pans which are normally thrown out after use do not require tevilla.
Rav Kamenetsky Although some say one should tovel aluminum pans without a brocho, it is not the minhag to do so.
Rav Belsky One who wants to use an aluminum pan more than once does not need to tovel it because he is the one who is making the pan into a permanent utensil. One should tovel it without a bracha.
Rav Heineman holds that it requires both tevila and a bracha

Last Week’s “Dose of InspirAISHon”
Last Shabbos, Judy Gruen taught us, “Don’t let a temporary slump in emunah get you down. Remember that HaShem really is watching and caring. After all, if the Almighty sent me a waiter from Shiloh’s at 2 a.m. during Yom Tov to set the holiday mode on my fridge, He will certainly send you the salvation you need, and when you need it, too!”
